Abstract
Telling stories about love is a practice of everyday life. People develop stories of love throughout life, which turn into frames of reference regarding how we conceptualize it. Experiences of love using stories, particularly written stories, are studied. Fifteen participants composed the sample: five (5) grandmothers, five (5) mothers and five (5) daughters. After analyzing the narratives transversely, one realizes that the spirit of ideal love, the love of giving, and the notion that personal happiness depends on love are all present. Other emerging issues are also discussed: the first experience, marriage, family, life transition and the search for true love. Differences were mostly found in the daughters, who do not recognize violence in love relationships, among other elements. Further research should study the male perspective about their experiences of love.
