Abstract
The symptom is interpreted from various disciplines in various ways. From the point of view of medicine, it is thought of as an organic sign of dysfunction, and from the point of view of psychology as a sign of dysfunction of the body and its defenses. The novelty introduced by psychoanalysis is to think and treat the symptom as formation of commitment. In addition, it implies an unconscious message of the codification of messages and satisfaction of the instinctual tendencies, whose consequences, sometimes disastrous, could be perceived by the subject and society. The article follows a question: What of the symptom is violent? Knowing that Freud postulates that it is an arrangement that the subject makes with his drive tendencies.
