Resumo
Em Meu credo pedagógico, ensaio publicado pela primeira vez em janeiro de 1897, John Dewey plasmaria aquelas ideias que mais adiante, e com grande amplitude, desenvolveria ao longo de sua vida profissional. De curta extensão, mas com um alto peso temático, este "credo" proporciona as ideias que sobre educação, psicologia, filosofia e democracia deixara o célebre pragmatista norte-americano. É interessante, então, mediante uma análise de texto (hermenêutica), interpretar as mensagens enviadas por Dewey em matéria de Educação, há mais de cem anos, e para isso foi oportuno retomar algumas ideias forjadas pelo filósofo e educador norte-americano em seu credo e em alguns trabalhos de seu primeiro momento acadêmico, compreendido entre 1882 e 1898.
