Approach to the production of knowledge on the rights of the LGBT community

Abstract
The documentary review below conducted in the past six years studies the rights of LGBT people in Colombia.
The research was conducted with a documentary corpus consisting of 8 articles from journals between the years 2007-2012. Index cards, coding and categorization were used for the collection and analysis of information.
The descriptive results obtained show that although there is political will in the Colombian Congress and other government agencies such as the Supreme Court, the Constitutional Court and the State Council, there are still officials reflecting sexist and homophobic attitudes rooted and expanded in broad sectors of the population, and they continue to violate the rights of this population forcing NGOs not to push for the recognition of their rights.
