Globalización y restructuración de las políticas sociales, una mirada desde Europa
Main Article Content
Abstract
Not only this article exemplifies the influence of the different social policies in Europe, mainly the emergence of the Welfare State, its development, fall, and reappearance, but also the prevailing neo-liberalism which advocated for the reduction of the role of the state and liberalization of economy.
Strong arguments support the statement that the neoliberal direction of globalization represents a threat to Welfare States, however, some countries continue to enjoy generous Welfare States, compatible with open and competitive economies. The inclusion of Social Work in the process of the Welfare State makes it necessary to take position as to the welfare model and the type of society desired, so that social action is reconsidered.
