Factores asociados a consumo abusivo de alcohol (CAA) en adultos emergentes colombianos

Resumen

El consumo abusivo de alcohol (CAA) es un tema de preocupación académica y de salud pública. La investigación se enfocó en explorar algunos factores asociados al CAA en adultos emergentes, estudiantes de instituciones públicas con jornada nocturna en Santa Marta, Colombia. Al respecto, se realizó un estudio transversal con 361 estudiantes de secundaria, en quienes se evaluaron la religiosidad, el conocimiento sobre la salud mental y el CAA. El tener empleo (OR = 2,95; IC95 % 1,61-5,39) y la afiliación religiosa católica (OR = 2,34; IC95 % 1,30-4,22) incrementaron significativamente el riesgo de CAA. El CAA en los adultos emergentes que cursan bachillerato nocturno se asocia significativamente con tener empleo y la filiación religiosa católica. Estos hallazgos reafirman la influencia de factores culturales y sociales en la prevención del riesgo.
