The export participation in the region of Antioquia: an international competitiveness factor

Abstract

Colombian aperturing economic model implied, to impel the competitiveness becomes the scene to achieve the success in the processes of insertion in the world wide markets. An approach to the evaluation of this aspect can be appreciated from a measurement of the export performance, in which a descriptive and quantitative analysis of the commercial structure presents weaknesses and strengths of the region under study. In this document we make the above specifically for the Antioqueña region evaluating net exportations based on the CIIU Code classifying (Industrial Classification the uniform international) through the Technological Specialization Index (IET). The main result of the work is that Antioqueña exporting dynamics is key for the economic opening of the country in a scene of world wide growth and greater international trade, but even so, lack much in comparison with Latin America.
