Myths about sexual harassment in the city of Medellin: A perception of young university students

Abstract

The objective is describe the myths about sexual harassment in Medellín, Colombia based on the perception of young university students from a private institution of the city, in 2020. The population was 12076 undergraduate students, over 18 years. Simple random sampling was applied with an error of 4,9% for a sample of 395. In addition, 15 experts were interviewed. The instruments used were: questionnaire and interview. The main cause of sexual harassment identified was machismo, and it was found that the gravest practice, is touching with hands in private parts.
