Abstract

From biomedical and psychosocial perspectives, an update of study of the State of the Art on spousal separation is made, and its impact on children and teenagers, and on the dynamic of new forms of family organization. Research works at local, nationwide and international levels are taken into account. This work is the result of the research project. Comparative study of some mental health indicators on children and teenagers in core families from concurrent, mono parental, and extensive families as a result of spousal separation among school children in the city of Medellín, 2005 – 2006
