La gerencia social ante el escenario del desarrollo en América Latina

Abstract

This article aims at raising a reflection about the role of social management within the Latin American context. It is imperative to reflect and explore on the social development scope and content from the social management field due to the magnitude and characteristics of the social problems that affect the Region regarding poverty, inequality, exclusion and other economic, political and cultural phenomena. From the same scenario, the social management has big challenges that favor the Social development understanding and intervention and that contribute for the social managers to deal with the management processes and the designing of social policies and programs successfully.

This article also aims at calling for the social sciences professionals attention and particularly of those who contribute to the Social Development through this field of knowledge.
