Abstract

Narrations, stories and dialogues that families bring to the therapy sessions, are vital input to the therapeutic work, the invitation to curiosity and neutrality should not be beyond the professional reach to take the real stories told as interpretations and not as unique truths, because in the end they are interpretations which go through the subjectivity of the clients.

The present clinical vignette is contained into the framework of the Masters in Family Therapy Training Seminar from the Pontificia Bolivariana University, in accordance with the family therapy model from the School of Milan, beginning with five therapy sessions in which a nuclear family was initially involved with both parents and child participating in the initial consultation related to child- earing guidance, and directing the consultation later on to only the parents and their relationship as a couple.

The intent, beyond a simple recreation of the case, is to have an analysis in light of the theory that supports a greater understanding of the dialogues from the clients which implicitly refer to something more important.
