Abstract

This article aims to share the professional experience in Social Work with patients who suffer chronic, non neoplastic pain and their families, who have attended the Unit for the Care of the Patient with Pain, of the Clínica Universitaria Bolivariana. Theyare atended by an interdisciplinary group composed of specialists such as, algesiologist, neurosurgeon, Psychiatrist and professionals in Psychology and Social Work. This team is always more and more convinced that without the family of the patient, the results are different to habitual Doctor-Patient therapies.
