The way of human rights and human dignity in the social doctrine of the church

Abstract

This article is part of the research entitled Human  dignity in the panorama of human rights, which aims to analyze the exiting relation between Human Rights and Social Thought of the Church in order to establish connections and distances between politics and religion to promote a joint development between both Western  cultural traditions. The article offers an overview of the different stages of acceptance of Human Rights by the Church and its Popes since the late nineteenth century to the present.
