Abstract

The book of Exodus starts its narrative with women. !ey are the protagonists upon the stage. In spite that the Lord, goel, redeemer of Israel, is the most
important actor of all the scenes, his interventions are always gviven through “Egyptian” women, their feminin sense in favor of life, their compassion for
marginal beings and "rst victims of the violence related there, the children. If the Lord appears as Saviour of Israel, his action will always be mediated by a
human being, in this case, by women.
