Resumen
La cooperación es uno de los fenómenos más estudiados en la disciplina de las Relaciones Internacionales (RRII). Las diversas corrientes teóricas que hacen parte de la disciplina ofrecen una amplia variedad de perspectivas e interpretaciones acerca de este tema, permitiendo comprenderlo en su complejidad. Este artículo ofrece un panorama general de las teorías de RRII más importantes y su aproximación a la cooperación entre actores del sistema internacional. A partir de una revisión detallada de la literatura académica, se introducen los postulados principales de teorías como el realismo, el liberalismo y el constructivismo, de acuerdo con sus categorías internas y variantes endógenas, haciendo énfasis en sus planteamientos acerca de la cooperación. Se estudian también otros enfoques teóricos, como la Escuela Inglesa (EI), el marxismo, la teoría crítica y el feminismo. Se realiza además una reflexión sobre el alcance y las limitaciones de las teorías para comprender a fondo la naturaleza de la cooperación internacional, así como una breve revisión de los debates contemporáneos en torno a las posibilidades de cooperación entre los actores del sistema internacional.
